Christmas Offering

cap 2024

Christmas offerings at Carol Services and on Christmas Day will raising money for the CAP Christmas Appeal. The charity provides emergency aid to families at breaking point. Millions of families across the UK are worried about making ends meet this Christmas. Many fear they won’t be able to give their children gifts, put enough food on the table, or manage rising energy bills. You can give in church via the offering bags or the contactless card terminal, or give online directly to CAP.

Get Involved

It's a busy time of year, even more enjoyable when also supporting other people at this time! This could be via the Christmas Projects, being involved in Christmas services or other events away from PBC.

Christmas Projects

Working alongside other churches in Purley and Kenley, we are supporting the local community and in particular people who are experiencing financial hardship. Nominations for an invitation to receive these gifts are made by Purley Food Hub’s ticket partners. More details including how to give online are available here.

Come Dine with Jesus

This is all about Purley Food Hub clients and CAP (Christians Against Poverty) clients being given supermarket gift cards so they can purchase the ingredients for a Christmas meal and a few treats. The gift cards are intended for those who may not be able to afford a traditional Christmas dinner and cannot be used for alcohol or the lottery. Booklets with a Christian message will accompany the gift card. Can you help? Sponsor a family for a Christmas meal: £75 - Sponsor a single person for a Christmas meal: £50 - Give towards these costs with whatever sum of money you choose.

ToysforJoylogoWe provide children who would not ordinarily have much at Christmas with one toy and a chocolate selection box, plus a lovely event for families to attend when collecting the toys! On the day, parents/carers of children aged 0–16 select a toy to give to their child at Christmas, craft activities are provided for the children, refreshments are available for all - and there's an invitation to receive prayer. The event is on Saturday 30 November 2-4pm. Can you help? Sponsor a child: £15 - Give any other sum of money you choose.
