Children aged 10 and under (and families) are invited to come along to church to meet with peers, friends and leaders! We're pleased to provide lots of creative, educational and biblical activities in term time, and special events in school holidays. The team of leaders and helpers are led by our Children's & Families Leader and supported by some of our young people. Leaders are DBS checked and have first aid and safeguarding training.

THIS TERM: Sept-Dec 2022

From Wendy (PBC Children's Leader) & Sally:

Christmas is coming and so are our plans for this year’s Nativity Production! This will be staged on Saturday 17 December 4pm (followed by refreshments) & Sunday 18th December 11.15am (as part of the church service).
We are invited every child who would like to take part to come along to the auditions. There are roles for: speaking actors, non-speaking actors - angels, shepherds and more, narrators, choir members, and for pre-school children - little stars. Auditions for speaking roles are on: Saturday 12 November 3-4.30pm.

Other significant dates:
  • Those who would like to have a speaking role need to commit to learning their words and attending rehearsals on: Saturdays 3-5pm: 19 & 26 November, 10 December
  •  Non-speaking Angels and Shepherds will be needed on: Saturday 10 December 3-5pm
  •  The Choir will be practising on: Saturdays 3-5pm: 19 & 26 November, 10 December
  •  The Dress Rehearsal for everyone taking part is on: Friday 16 December 4.30-6pm
Little stars do not need to attend any rehearsals they can turn up on the Saturday and/or Sunday, however they are very welcome to come along to the dress rehearsal if parents/carers think it would help their child to feel happy about taking part.

Please contact us if your child would like to be involved and in what capacity. We look forward to having their contribution to this year’s Nativity.

Children's Church

We want children to have great fun whilst learning more about Jesus and meeting with Him. We use resources from Urban Saints Energize with age relevant bible teaching and prayers, plus crafts and games.

The following groups are active at the 9.30am and 11.15am services. Everybody is in the church service to start, and an announcement tells children and youth when to go to their groups. If you are new, parents - please take your children out by following the crowds and say hello to to one of the leaders.
  • Babies - Parents can stay in church with their babies, or they can also join the Tumbler group and see the provision we have for toddlers
  • Toddlers and pre schoolers - Giggle and Grow
  • Reception, School Year 1 and Year 2 - On the Move
  • School Years 3-6 - Adventurers
Tumblers and Explorers are meeting in the Lower Hall, in an open plan style room. Adventurers are meeting in Purley Librrary. The programmes include a Bible story lesson, singing/worship, craft and games.

Bods & Tods

Come along and join in the buzz of children at play! Lots of toys and activities are laid out for babies, toddlers and pre-school children. Each week there is a craft activity and story-time linked to the set theme. Refreshments are available all morning - we hope you will get a moment to sit down and enjoy your cuppa!
