Children
Church for children during this Covid era is very different to when we are meeting together.
The normal full programme of activities for children aged 0-10 aims to create a safe, welcoming environment where every child can be themself. We can't provide the physical environment right now but recognise the value in regular contact with peers and friends, and are trying to help encourage this. Our team of children's workers, led by our Children's & Families Leader and supported by some of our young people, are keen to provide content to entertain/educate children and support those who are looking after them. This is:
PBC Kids,
Memory Verse Challenge,
Online Games, Scouting Groups.
Our pre-recorded online programme for children is available on Sundays.
Tune in to watch the varied programme of Bible stories, scripture memory verses, craft activities, birthday greetings and more.
Each month we are memorising a part of the Bible. Children aged under 10 might prefer to learn the passage one verse at a time. Send a Whatsapp video of your child saying a verse or the passage to Wendy: 07732 648693. Prizes are awarded monthly for achievements and/or showing perseverance in learning. Do let us know which verse you like best and why. Adults, you are invited to learn the scripture and take part too!
Psalm 121:1-5
1 I look to the mountains; where does my help come from?
2 My help will come from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not let you fall; your protector is always awake.
4 The protector of Israel never dozes or sleeps
5 The Lord will guard you; he is by your side to protect you.
Previous memory verses: December - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, November - Galatians 5:22-26 | October – Psalm 91:1-6 | September – Ephesians 6:13-17 | August – Psalm 100:1-5 | July - Psalm: 23 1-6
Do you want to compete with friends and find out 'who is the best'? Or simply have a go at some games to see what fun is to be had. You'll be learning from the Bible as you go along. Click the logo to access. Adult supervision may be needed for login.

We will look to reinstate our normal programme of activities when it is safe to do so. When we are able to meet together again, we will look to resume our content on Sundays, midweek term-time activities and holiday activities. Naturally, most of these are indoor in a restricted space where social distancing will be a challenge. We may have to be very patient in waiting for groups to return! These are: Children's Church, Bods & Tods, Fun Club and Scouting Groups.
We want children to have great fun whilst learning more about Jesus and meeting with Him. An announcement is made during the service when it's time to go out. If you are new, please follow the crowd towards the Lower Hall and say hello to one of the leaders!
Our Sunday morning Children's Church groups for School Years R, 1 & 2 (Explorers) and School Years 3, 4 & 5 (Adventurers), use Energize resources with age relevant bible teaching and prayers, plus crafts and games. Younger children ages 2-4 years (Scramblers) have lots of play time, plus Bible story and crafts. 6 mths-2 years olds (Tumblers) are looking after in the same space. You are welcome to stay with your child here, or if you prefer keep them with you in church of the Cafe area.
