Habakkuk: Conversations with God in a Crisis. Where is God when the world falls apart? This is a question that Habakkuk wrestled with over 2500 years ago. In this new Sunday at 7 series we will journey with Habakkuk and learn to have faith in God when even life itself makes no sense.

Recordings are continuously available in the Media Library. Paper transcripts of 10.30am sermons are also available.

This Week and Beyond

A message for all key holders: If you need to enter the church building, you will need authorisation first. Maintenance works are being carried out and since we need to minimise contact between people (including via surfaces which have been touched) we are actively monitoring access to the building.
Youth NEW Live Loud (for School Years 6, 7 & 8) social gathering on Monday 25 May 4-5pm. Details have been sent to parents. Contact mark.humm@purleybaptist.org if your child would like to be included.
Are you a 'creative person' who has a little spare time? You may have noticed our efforts to bring some vitality to the external appearance of our building whilst we are in lockdown... Please contact the Church Office office@purleybaptist.org if you would like to help in this.

bms BMS Action Team Visit
We were to receive a visit from the BMS Delhi Action Team this month and have heard that they will soon send us a video - not the same as hosting the team for a tour week, but under the circumstances it’s better than not hearing anything at all! BMS ask that we let you know how much they appreciate our support and prayers, at this time.
Prayer-tight PRAYER Check out our online content - relevant to believers and non-believers. Here is what's coming up:

Thy Kingdom Come
This week many churches internationally are uniting in prayer from Ascension Day on 21 May to Pentecost Day on 31 May as part of the ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ movement. We are once again encouraging everyone to pray for 5 friends who don’t know the love of Christ. A simple way of remembering to do this is to look at your hand, and for every digit name someone and pray for them, expectant that the Holy Spirit would draw them more and more to encounter God’s love in Christ.

Click HERE for our Heartbeat in detail this week.
We are coming together to pray on Wednesday 27 May 8-9pm at our regular monthly prayer meeting (this replaces the Unite714 which is held on all other Wednesdays). Members will be sent details of how to join the meeting (or contact office@purleybaptist.org). Once again, it would be great if you could light a candle, wherever you are at 8pm on Wednesday, symbolising our hope is in Jesus - the life and light of all people. We hope you can join us on this exciting week of prayer!
Thy Kingdom Come Bow Down - PKCT event Wednesday 27 May 9-9.15pm
Bow Down is an opportunity to kneel together in the middle of our communities to pray for God’s Kingdom to come in our cities and our country. The event starts at sunset, where people are invited to pray for 15 minutes. The time together is closed by standing and holding up phone torches as an act of unity and to symbolise that Jesus is the Light of the World. You are invited to pray with others from churches in Purley and Kenley. Members will be sent details of how to join the meeting (or contact
