Planning your Visit

New to Church?

IMG 3049

Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope this helps you to find out everything you want to know about our church.

We are a large and lively church situated close to one of South London's busiest traffic intersections. We cater for all age groups and stages of life with a membership of over 400 people with 600+ people each Sunday across congregations. We are dynamic in our outlook, and bring together people from all walks of life and from different nations. We love to see new people! Services begin with a warm welcome and an invitation to join in celebrating the good news about Jesus Christ. Our worship is vibrant and lively as we lift up His name together. We expect God to meet with us and speak to us. Outside of our services and the activities at church, we are very active in our local community. We work alongside other agencies and run our own projects to express the love of God in a practical way. Our vision statement drives what we do.

We want to enable people from all backgrounds to become mature followers of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Key information

Finding us

Our address is below and a map of our location is Purley is at contact us.

Banstead Road

If driving, parking can get quite chaotic - especially when arriving for the 11.15am service when the 9.30am service may still be emptying! Our Sports Cage immediately before the church has the most parking spaces - turn right soon after turning into Banstead Road. Other possibilies are the main car park for disabled parking (go past the Sports Court and the main church building and turn right into this smaller car park), parking on Banstead Road (including the red line on Sundays) plus other local roads. We recommend arriving 15 mins early to allow time for parking, walk to church and finding your seat.

We are well serviced by many local bus routes going in/out of Purley.

What should I expect when I visit the church?

Expect a very warm welcome particularly from our Host Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you where to go. There will be approx 30 mins of worship songs, a short time of prayer and an offering collection (please don't feel you have to give). After the notices one of our pastors will give a sermon and there will be a chance to respond/receive prayer at the end of the service.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served following morning services, and before the evening service. This gives time to meet and catch up with other people.

What do children and young people do?

There are groups for children at both morning services, groups for young people are at the 11.15am service.

Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship together for the first part of the morning. An announcement is made when the children need to go to their groups. You will need to go with your children and register them the first time they attend.

Tumblers 6 months to 2 years old -  children under 6 months are welcome but should be accompanied by their parent/carer
Scramblers 2-4 years old
Explorers School Years R/1/2
Adventurers School Years 3/4/5

Young people's groups are held in the youth centre at the United Reformed Church (URC), which is just down the road. Meet at the URC from 11am or ask someone from the Host Team to take you there.

Live Loud School Years 6/7/8
Vibe girls in School Years 9/10/11/12/13
