Our Job Club is a friendly place where practical help is given towards employment. We have a relaxed environment where you can meet other jobseekers, get support and gain the tools needed to find work. We are part of the network of 169 national CAP Job Clubs - 25% of Job Club attendees find work. We are registered as the CAP Croydon South Job Club and are a partnership between Purley Baptist Church and CAP (Christians Against Poverty). The course includes guest speakers, access to Wifi and laptops.
Course We will help to equip you with the practical tools you need to find work. Our 9-session Steps to Employment course walks through each step of the job hunting process; from identifying your strengths and skills, through to writing a great CV and learning how to succeed in an interview. Community We know how hard it can be to stay motivated when searching for work, especially when you’re on your own. The CAP Job Club is a relaxed place where you’ll meet other people in similar situations, who understand what you are going through, and will support and encourage you along the way. The Job Club can also provide valuable opportunities to connect with local employers for advice, and possibly for work experience. Past members have said they found it useful hearing firsthand from employers what they are looking for in a candidate, and some have even gone on to find work through these new contacts. Coaching Attendees have the opportunity to have one-to-one informal support from a dedicated CAP Job Club Coach. Help is given in setting goals, plus identifying and tackling any areas that the individual is struggling with.
