A weekly drop-in for homeless and vulnerably-housed adults based at East Croydon United Reformed Church
We are open every Thursday from 6.45-7.30pm providing a takeaway service of food, drink and other essentials to anyone who needs them. Guests are greeted individually at the door and receive tea/coffee/cuppa soup, rolls and sandwiches, crisps, cake and tins and packets of food, and toiletries to take away. Clothing and bedding are also provided when available.
For our first 10 years we operated as a weekly drop-in providing a safe, social space where homeless and vulnerably housed adults could come and eat, make friends and enjoy playing pool, table tennis, chess and other board games. Since Covid-19 and reopening in October 2020, we have changed the way we operate in order to protect the safety of guests and volunteers.

Donations
We are always grateful to receive men’s medium and large sized warm coats, jeans and tracksuit trousers, pants and socks. Men’s toiletries are also gratefully received. Monetary donations can be given via Purley Baptist Church.
Please pray:
-
For those who are homeless and vulnerably housed, that they would be able to get safe accommodation
-
For energy and creativity for those working with the homeless in Croydon, as they struggle with limited resources and have to make decisions about priorities
-
For hope for freedom for all those of our guests who suffer from addictions.
-
For opportunities to share the good news of Jesus in a way that is relevant and accessible to guests.?
Many of our guests have lost everything; homes, possessions, family relationships. We count it a privilege to meet these folk each week and show them the love of Jesus. If you or someone you know is in need of this service, please come along to The Link - we are open every Thursday, all year round.
Please contact the Church Office with any enquiries. NB. Volunteer numbers are currently limited and we don't have any openings at present.
